Although we weren't able to offer child care this year given the virtual nature of our conference, we were excited to provide the following for our kids on Saturday, Oct. 10th.
For younger kids (3-7 YEARS OLD)
9:30am-10:30am Drag Queen Story Time with Miss Brittany Lynn
Philadelphia's drag queen Miss Brittany Lynn will bring her stories of love and acceptance as well as puppets, sing-a-longs, and easy crafts to a Zoom webinar near you - live during the PFP conference. Settle your kids with Brittany Lynn on one device and then join us for the Welcome & Keynote Conversation on another device. Watch the video of the Drag Queen Story Time on Facebook.
Off-Line Activities
PFP understands that kids in this age group are hard to engage for long stretches of time via video, so volunteers put together a list of fun off-line activities for kids 3-7 years old that you can download here.

For older kids (8-14+ YEARS OLD)

We were excited to again be partnering with our friends at COLAGE to provide quality programming for our kids 8 years old and older. The schedule for these age groups ran from 1-3pm on Saturday, Oct. 10th, concurrent with the afternoon adult workshops. Families registering their kids 8 and older were contacted directly by COLAGE with Zoom links and more info for these sessions. Read about the COLAGE facilitators on our Speakers page.
For 8-10 year olds:
1pm - 2pm Our Families in the Media
COLAGErs will gain a deeper understanding of representation in media and how to use it to represent their own families in a way that feels authentic and just to them and their stories.
2pm - 3pm Body Positivity and Disability Justice
COLAGErs come in all different shapes and sizes, with different access-needs and abilities. How can we celebrate our bodies
and understand our differences?
For 11-13 year olds:
1pm - 2pm Emotions
In this workshop, COLAGErs will be learning to identify how they feel at any given time and understand why they feel that way. We will also learn how feelings can be channeled to help you meet your goals. In the end, we hope you take away the idea that emotions matter and that, when you are able to understand and regulate your emotions, you are better able to navigate life’s uncertainties.
2pm - 3pm Power, Privilege, Oppression
Youth will explore definitions of power, class, privilege, and oppression. We will be particularly focused on systems of power as they pertain to gender, race, disability, and capitalism. By the end of this workshop, each youth will develop a toolkit to use as future advocates.
14+ year olds
1pm - 3pm Pandemics and Social Inequity
Historically, pandemics have exasperated social inequities present in society. This workshop will focus on social inequities in the
United States during pandemics, both in history and during the outbreak of COVID-19. Racism and classism will be explored, in particular.
