frequently asked questions
Do I have to attend the sessions I registered for, or can I change my mind and go to another one?
You are welcome to join any session you would like, even if you didn’t register for it. We will send all session links to each registrant prior to the event. COLAGE will send information and links to each family who registers a child 8-14+.
Will sessions be recorded?
The low and medium engagement sessions will be recorded for later viewing by conference registrants. Sessions with a high level of engagement will not be recorded to protect the privacy of participants and ensure a lively and engaging discussion. (See the schedule page for details including the engagement level of each session.)
How do I access Zoom?
You can either make an account and download the Zoom app to your computer or mobile device, or simply access Zoom on your web browser by clicking the link next to the session you want to attend. Links for the sessions will be emailed out to conference registrants the day before the event. We will also provide call in numbers, meeting ids and passcodes for those who would like to simply call in by phone.
How do I log on to the sessions?
Each registrant will be sent an email the day before the event with Zoom links for each session. If you would prefer to call into the sessions, we will also be providing phone numbers to access the meetings that way.
What if I want to take a break and come back later in the day? Can I still access the conference?
Yes! Simply go back into the email with the session links and access the remaining sessions from there.
Who should I contact for technical difficulties?
You can either send a chat directly to the the “host” in each meeting or email taylor@phillyfamilypride.org for assistance.
How can I pay my registration fee?
Once you complete the registration form, you can securely pay via credit card on the final registration page. We strongly prefer electronic payment. If you are unable to pay via credit card, we can accept mailed checks to our PO Box. Please email stephanie@phillyfamilypride.org for more info.
Do I have to register separately for each person in my family?
Each household should register together and will receive all the info for each session via one email the week before and the day of the event on Oct. 10th. If you indicate during registration that you have a child or children 8-14+ years old interested in attending the COLAGE program, they will contact you directly with event details.
What security measures will you have in place?
The security of our presenters and attendees is our top priority. Zoom encrypts in-meeting content by default, and we will be utilizing passcodes to add an additional layer of security. Although there is always a risk for “Zoom-bombers” and other unwanted infiltration, we will have volunteers monitoring traffic and running security screenings throughout the event. To help us keep the event secure, please do not share the links to the meetings with anyone else.
Will there be a sponsor fair like in previous years?
Yes! Our virtual sponsor fair will take place from 12:00pm-1:00pm and consist of a mix of live meetings with sponsor reps and short, pre-recorded videos. Information for how to access the fair will be sent along with session links.
Will sessions be closed captioned?
The opening welcome and keynote conversation, COVID-19 and Kids, and Talking to Your Kids about Race and Racism sessions as well as the closing plenary will be presented with closed captioning.
