The first Philly Family Pride conference was held in 2010 at the Bryn Mawr School of Social Work and Social Research and offered 20 workshops for attendees, as well as a kids zone.
In 2011, our 2nd annual conference was sponsored by Widener University and Widener’s Center for Social Work Education and the Graduate Program in Human Sexuality. There were 18 workshops and panels during the day, including an Ask the Experts! Teen Panel during lunch.
In 2012, our 3rd annual conference was sponsored by Arcadia University School of Education, the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology. The theme was “Welcoming Schools” and the keynote speaker Graciela Slesaransky-Poe. We offered 13 workshops and panels, including ones specifically for educators.
In 2013, our 4th conference was held at the William Way LGBT Community Center. The theme was “Telling Our Stories” and the keynote speaker was kids’ book author Cory Silverberg.

In 2015, our 6th conference was held at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The theme was “Mind, Body and Soul: Taking care of our ourselves and our families.” Our keynote speaker was Dr. Rachel Levine, Physician General for Pennsylvania.
In 2016, our 7th conference was held at the University of the Sciences with keynote speaker Staceyann Chin.
In 2017, our 8th conference was held at the University of the Sciences with keynote speaker Heath Davis.

In 2020, our 11th conference was held virtually on Oct. 10, 2020. Our keynote conversation was moderated by Naomi Washington-Leapheart and included Celena Morrison, Alicia T. Crosby, LaTonya Myers, and Kris Henderson. More on our 2020 event.
In 2021, our 12th conference was held virtually Nov. 4- Nov. 7th. In lieu of a keynote, we released pre-recorded "Recipes for Resilience." These and some other conference content can be viewed on our YouTube channel on this playlist.
In 2022, our 13th Annual Family Matters Conference took place as a hybrid event during the evenings of Thurs. Nov. 3rd and Friday, Nov. 4th on Zoom and during the day on Saturday Nov. 5th in person, outside at the Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. The theme was "Family Reunion" with sessions for parents on topics about reconnecting; our inheritance, traditions and heritage as LGBTQ-led families; exploring and navigating the paths to parenthood for prospective parents.
